We believe that WWWeasel can be used successfully as an electronic design notebook, and that its media capabilities and hypertext editing features are the primary features that will draw engineers to use it. The tight integration between HTML editor, media browser, media creation utilities and HyperMedia clipboard significantly simplifies the authoring of true hypermedia documents. This integration, in conjunction with the automatic media conversion drag-and-drop mechanism, represents the main functional features distinguishing WWWeasel for use as a multimedia engineering notebook. We believe the integration is key in allowing engineers to publish their design notebook entries, as well as perform collaborative engineering over the internet - unless using media becomes a ``no brainer,'' using it will always interrupt the natural flow of design activity. WWWeasel's automation of tedious media conversion and handling tasks allows engineers using WWWeasel as a multimedia design notebook to spend more of their time concentrating on the message, and not the media.
